Welcome home to your body.

Home: Welcome

Embodiment emerges from our cells' awareness of themselves.
It is a direct experience.
It is a knowing that only comes through feeling.
Here, the brain is the last to know.
It is an awareness process, not a thinking process.
Out of this embodied experience emerges feeling, sensing, witnessing, understanding, and truth.
The source of this process is free; it is love.

From the Source

Birth Doula

Maya is the most incredible doula anyone could possibly ask for! My husband and I were initially on the fence about hiring a doula but after we met Maya, we knew she was perfect for us. It was our first birth and we were nervous as to what to expect even with taking birthing classes, knowing which hospital we were delivering at and having our OBGYN there. Our son came over 6 weeks early which was completely unexpected given it was an uncomplicated pregnancy. Maya handled it with the utmost of compassion and assistance even way earlier than scheduled. She was there for us every minute keeping us as calm as can be throughout the long labor process. She helped advocate for me when I didn't know what was the right thing to do for myself and my baby during labor. She also was fantastic at helping my husband so he could feel involved and useful. We could not have done it without her! My OBGYN, who was not a huge proponent initially when we told her we were hiring a doula, ended up being Maya's biggest fan (after us). If you are lucky enough to have Maya as your doula, do not take it for granted! We absolutely love and adore her!

Birth Doula

Maya is the most amazing doula! And we can confidently say this because we spoke with several doulas before we decided to go with her for the birth of our first child. We instantly felt the connection with Maya and we were  impressed with her warmth and the resources and ongoing support she provides, even though she completed her doula training not too long ago. My husband was not at all sidelined during the labor and delivery and she also worked really well with the nurses, who complimented her style and support.

My labor ended up being crazy fast (2 hours), and our gorgeous daughter was born with no complications,

Birth Doula

Being first time parents, we were apprehensive whether to hire a doula and unsure about how much of a help a doula can offer. But Maya proved us wrong and was amazing to work with. Even though it was a short labor, she guided me through various positions to better manage the pain and to fasten the process. She was our sounding board during our communication with the doctors and kept pushing me towards my goal of natural birth. She has a warm personality and a pleasant demeanour to work with, we would strongly recommend her.

Yoga

I signed up with weekly one-on-one yoga sessions with Maya. We mostly did Hatha yoga, although we occasionally did some restorative when I needed it.  She really helped me to be more calm and focus, and I knew I was increasing my strength and flexibility. I am truly grateful for her guidance and calming mantras and meditations. She is truly an inspiration.
