Who Is Maya
Hello Beautiful Soul,
My name is Maya Atlasov, and I am first and foremost, a student of life. I am also a sister, a daughter, a friend, and a lover of all things beautiful and true. I am here to continuously practice coming home to my deepest self and to create a safe space for others to find their own way home.
My background:
I was born and raised in the Bay Area by two immigrants. At the age of 18 I left my hometown to attend an educational gap year program in Israel which was followed by several solo backpacking trips around India and Southeast Asia where I was able to deepen my knowledge of culture, religion, spirituality, and identity. Traveling alone at a young age allowed me to get clear on what my passion and purpose is - to heal myself and support others through their own healing. After living abroad for the majority of the last 8 years, I have decided to come back "home" and share my knowledge and passion with my community.
My Qualifications:
After becoming a Hatha certified yoga teacher in 2016 at Sivananda Ashram, I continued on to pursue a certification in Yin Yoga from Semperviva, and Children's Yoga from Yoga Garden. During this time I experienced a handful of health issues and with a family background of autoimmune disorder, I decided to take a deep dive into nutrition. In 2017 I began a year long program at Institute for Integrative Nutrition - and graduated as a Holistic Health Coach. In 2018 fitness came into my life and I received my NASM Person Training certification. This was also the year I was introduced to the world of Doulahood. I attended my first Doula workshop and began a year of study and mentorship in order to receive my Birth Doula certification from DONA International. In 2019, I moved to Israel and pursue a degree in Psychology at Reichman University. I am now back in the Bay Area pursuing all of my passions on a whole new level!
